Owned by the Fondation des Artistes, the garden of the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild is open
to the public every day, with a few exceptions (check the opening hours below) thanks to a
partnership with the town hall of Paris in charge of the maintenance and surveillance of this
public green space.
This one-hectare English-style garden was laid out in the second half of the 19th century on
the backfills of the constructions works of Avenue de Friedland, which explains its
overhanging position and peaceful environment since it is almost invisible from the
surrounding streets. Today, its large turf is open to the public in spring and autumn and
bordered by chestnut trees, shrubs, boxwoods, and flower beds.
The garden is accessible through rue Balzac (ramp) and Place Georges Guillaumin
(staircases).
