The estate

The Fondation des Artistes administers a large estate (historic monuments, parks and gardens, artworks, archives) in both Paris and Nogent-sur-Marne. Among this estate, the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild is listed as a French Historic Monument, the entire site of Nogent-sur-Marne was labeled “Regional heritage” and its park was declared a “picturesque site”. The Fondation des Artistes has also joined the ICOM (International Council of Museum) in 2016.

The head office of the Fondation des Artistes is located in the heart of the 8th arrondissement of Paris, in the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild offered in 1922 by the baroness Adèle de Rothschild to support contemporary artists.

Inside a large 10-hectares English park, the domain of the Fondation des Artistes in Nogent-sur-Marne consists of several edifices from the 17th up to the 19th century gathered by the Smith family who bequeathed them to the French state in 1944.
