The collection of the former residents of the Maison nationale des artistes

The Fondation des Artistes keeps another artistic fund constituted by the artwork donations and bequests (mainly paintings, drawings, engravings and photographs, but also sculptures and art objects) made by the residents of the Maison nationale des artistes, or coming from their private collection, such as the African masks collected by artist Homero Panagiotopulos. Other creators supported by the Fondation des Artistes also wanted to donate artworks. This collection, which today comprises over 1,400 pieces, is a major testimony to the rich history of the Fondation des Artistes, and of the diversity of artistic production from the end of the 19th century up until today. Among the 300 artists featured in the collection are famous names of photography (Willy Ronis), painting (Georges and Auguste Leroux, Pierre Girieud, Maurice Mazo, Jacques Monory), sculpture (Paul Belmondo, Malvina Hoffman, Henri Pelée), illustration (Paul Collin, André Édouard Marty, Jean-François Laglenne and André Dignimont) and decorative art (Lucien Aguettand).
