The collection of the Baron and Baroness Salomon de Rothschild

The Baroness Adèle de Rothschild bequeathed part of her collections to prestigious French institutions such as the Louvre Museum, the Cluny Museum, the MAD (Museum of Decorative Arts) and the Bibliothèque nationale de France. The rest of the artworks entrusted to the Fondation Salomon de Rothschild -since then renamed Fondation des Artistes- is in part exhibited in the Cabinet of Curiosity and at the Louvre Museum (Department of Decorative art and Islamic art), as well as at Mobilier National (furniture, carpets and decorative art) and the MAD (chinaware and Chinese enamels, 18th-century decorative art).

In addition to the works bequeathed by the Baroness of Rothschild, the Fondation des Artistes keeps two collections of artworks that reflect the history of the Smith’s sisters and the artists supported by the foundation. They are open to the public upon reservation and can be lent or stored in museums.
